A not so complicated homemade braided bread with flavor spiced aromatic chicken filling will serve as a great scrumptious snack for tea parties and also a filling snack for the kids.
Baking a bread can be a bit tricky as sometimes the results out of the oven don’t turn out to our expectation. But what’s fun about baking is that once you get the perfect bread out of the oven, the memories of all the failures are left behind and you are in awe of how a beautiful baked delight you made by yourself in your Kitchen.
A recipe that looks complicated but it’s actually not that hard to make once you dive in and follow the steps. A must try beautiful braided baked delicacy.

INGREDIENTS
- 1 and 1/2 Cup Shredded Boneless Boiled Chicken
- 3 Cups All Purpose Flour (Maida)
- 1 & 1/2 TSP Instant Yeast (Khameer)
- 1 & Half TSP Sugar
- 6 TBSP Cooking Oil
- 5-6 TBSP Warm Water
- 2 TBSP Butter
- 2 TBSP Onion Chopped
- 2 Cup Fresh Milk
- 3 TBSP Coriander Chopped
- 1/2 TSP Black Pepper Powder
- 3 TBSP diced Colored Bell Peppers (Capsicum)
- 2 TBSP Sliced Black Olives
- Sesame Seeds
- Black Cumin Seeds
- 2 TSP Salt
- 1 Egg
DIRECTIONS
PREPARE DOUGH
- Mix 2 Cups All Purpose Flour (Maida) , 1 TSP Salt, 1 and 1/2 TSP sugar & 1 and 1/2 TSP Instant Yeast.
- Add 1/4 cup fresh milk and give it a good mix.
- Add 6 TBSP cooking oil and mix.
- Add 5-6 TBSP warm water and knead into a dough. Keep adding water as required.
- Once a smooth dough is formed, rub will olive oil cover and let it rest in warm place for 1-2 hours.
PREPARE CHICKEN FILLING
- Heat pan with 2 TBSP butter and add 2 TBSP diced onions, 1/4 cup AP flour.
- Mix well then add 1 cup fresh milk, 1/2 TSP black pepper powder, 1/2 TSP salt and add 1 and 1/2 cup shredded chicken.
- Mix well and add 3 TBSP chopped coriander , 3 TBSP diced belle peppers, 2 TBSP sliced black olives.
- Mix and cook for 1-2 mins and keep aside to cool.
PREPARE bREAD
- Take the dough out and knead it for a couple of mins and divide into half.
- Roll each portion into a smooth ball and then flatten it using a rolling pin into a rectangular shape.
- Add the chilling filling to the center of the dough in a rectangular shape and slit the dough edges around the filling with 1 inch gap between the slits.
- Fold one slit over the other till the end in a crisscross manner.
- Place into a greased baking tray, apply egg wash and sprinkle sesame seed and black cumin seed.
- Bake in oven for 15-20 mins.
